2017 Kinsfolk Riesling 12RS

A harmonious balance of acidity and sweetness with suggestive hints of oak and toast. With a delicate, fine mouth-feel, this wine showcases purity with interesting layers of flavours - bright, floral, soft, musk sticks, citrus, candied grapefruit.

Vineyard Region: Penwortham

The fruit for this wine comes from our good friend Leo’s Riesling vineyard in Penwortham. A special site that sits low and hugs a creek line. Unusually late ripening, which perfectly suits the off dry style of this wine. Hand tendered throughout the year, it’s a vineyard of incredible balance. No chemicals used

Growing Conditions

A late start to the growing season, due to cool and wet weather, the wettest year since 2000, with 1000mm of rain. This led to a later start for vintage. The vines were in great condition with strong canopies, fruit was of a high quality across the board

Hand picked fruit, destemmed, cooled as low as we can get it. Slow natural ferment, started in stainless steel and finished in one 3000lt French oak foudre. Aged for 5 months before bottling
