of Riesling and produced since 1977, Mitchell Wines Watervale Riesling has intense aromatics, a fine dry palate with crisp acidity and lingering finish. Drinks beautifully both young and old (if cellared for 5–8 years). To quote one reviewer, it’s “as tall and dry as the white cliffs of Dover”.

Mitchell Winery was established in 1975 by Jane and Andrew Mitchell. The entire range of Mitchell Wines receives multiple accolades every year. From apples to grapes the imposing century–old cast iron gates open to the Mitchell family home and winery, which is built around an old sandstone apple store, in the western hills of the Clare Valley, a two hour drive north of Adelaide in South Australia.
