Our Environment
Careful land and water management is nothing new to Mitchell Wines. Andrew Mitchell has long considered dry–grown to have better developed characteristics in the final wine. Careful soil management and conservative old–style farm and biodynamic practices have proven to be not just sustainable, but to deliver consistently excellent fruit that equates with the same consistency in Mitchell Wines.

Mitchells Wines have four vineyards in the beautiful and renowned Clare Valley. They range in altitude from 300 to 450 metres and are located in and around the Watervale, Auburn and Sevenhill sub regions. Vine age ranges from as little as five to over fifty five years, with a focus on Riesling, Semillon, Shiraz, Grenache and the Cabernet family of grapes. The Clare Valley is recognised as one of Australia’s premier wine growing regions.
