The Mitchell marketing philosophy for Australia has always been to sell themselves as well as the wines, as a total package. This approach has worked well in the export market. In the competitive market, one to one contact with wine merchants, their staff and consumers has paid off. “Everyone loves the open Australian style. It is friendly, warm and very welcoming – just like the wines”, said the charismatic Jane Mitchell. Regular visits by Andrew and Jane have helped to develop identification and appreciation of the name and most importantly the wines.
